BIO 224E - Molecular Biology

Course Objectives

Students who pass the course will be able to:
1.Demonstrate knowledge on the fundamentals and applications of molecular biology.
2.Demonstrate an understanding of molecular biology from an interdisciplinary perspective that includes life sciences, chemical engineering and environmental aspects.
3.Analyze and interpret experimental data related to the biomedical applications of molecular biology.
4.Use the resources on the Internet and in the library for performing research in the field of molecular biology.
5.Demonstrate an ability in preparing written reports.
6.Demonstrate an ability in giving oral presentations.

Course Description

Fundamentals of molecular biology. Medical and industrial applications of molecular biology. The relationships between these applications and the biological, physical and social components of life.
