Course Objectives

1. To provide the concepts of functions, limits, continuity, differentiation, and integration.
2. To provide the applications of differentiation and integration
3. To give an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics on engineering problems.

Course Description

Preliminaries Limit and Continuity, Derivatives, Applications of Derivatives, Sketching Graphs of Functions, Asymptotes, Integration(Riemann sum), Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, Techniques of Integration (Integration by Parts, Partial Fractions, Trigonometric Substitution ,Trigonometric Integrals)Applications of Integrals(area,length of a curve volume and surface area of solids of revolution), Transcendental Functions, Indeterminate Forms, L’Hopital’s Rule,Improper Integrals(First and Second type)
