MAT 271E - Probability and Statistics

Course Objectives

To introduce the counting techniques
To introduce the concept of probability
To introduce the basic elements of probability
To make aware of the students about the use of probability in Statistics

Course Description

The nature of data, sampling, descriptive statistics, normal distribution, statistical decision theory, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, comparing two population means, paired data, t and F distributions, analysis of variance (ANOVA), post-hoc tests, correlation, regression, multivariate analysis, design of experiments.
