Course Objectives
1. To give knowledge about the properties of the fibres that can be spun and the effect of fiber properties on yarn properties.
2. To teach the basic computations used during yam production.
3. To teach each process from obtaining fiber to the beginning of roving process.
4. To give an ability to determine the differences between long and short staple production processes.
5. To teach the basic principles of filament yarn production.
Course Description
Description of fiber properties important for yarn spinning. Explanation of basic computations used during yarn production. Classification and explanation of short staple and long staple yarn production technologies. Description of the machines and processes used in the production of short staple and long staple yarns until the spinning stage.
