Course Objectives
Objective of the course:
1) To transfer current knowledge to students about linear/nonlinear analysis and design philosophy of structures.
2) To provide application oriented skills in the light of current knowledge and design philosophy.
Course Description
Constitutive equations of structural materials, philosophy of structural analysis and design, materially nonlinear structures, distributed plasticity, linearization techniques, plastic hinge concepts, ultimate load, slopedeflection method, geometrically non-linear structures, second order theory, determination of buckling loads, influence lines.
Course Outcomes

the following :
1) Constitutive equations of structural materials and structural analysis concept.
2) Analysis of materially nonlinear structures by successive approximation methods.
3) Analysis of geometrically nonlinear structures and buckling loads by successive approximation
methods.
4) Analysis of materially and geometrically nonlinear structures by successive approximation methods.
5) Structural analysis by slope-deflection method.
