Course Objectives
• Introduction of current computer applications in architecture
• Upgrade the students 3-D software using and representation skills
Course Description
Use of computer technology in today’s architecture profession and software introduction, parametric object design, parametric design applications, 3 dimensional contemporary design applications, Building Information Modeling Applications, Database design and applications, integration of CAD systems with Database Systems, consideration of CAD process on 2D and 3D model that represents an architectural design product from primitive design stage to presentation stage.
Course Outcomes
1. Developing and intensifying knowledge in the computer aided architectural design area, based upon the competency in the undergraduate level,
2. Grasping the inter-disciplinary interaction related to the architectural design computing area; Interpreting and forming new types of knowledge by combining the knowledge from the architectural design computing area and knowledge from various other disciplines,
3. The ability to use the expert-level theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in architectural design computing area,
4. Solving the problems faced in the area by making use of the research methods,
5. The ability to carry out a specialist study related to architectural design computing area independently,
6. Using the computer software together with the information and communication technologies efficiently and according to the needs of the architectural design computing area,
7. Using the knowledge and the skills for problem solving and/or application (which are processed within the area) in inter-disciplinary studies,
