CTT 506 - Facade Sound Insulation: Design and Performance

Course Objectives

- Teaching the basics of sound affecting the façade systems
- Teaching the sound insulation measuring and evaluation methods
- Developing skills to designing facades for noise sources

Course Description

All basic concepts including noise, sound transmission and sound insulation are clarified within the scope of the course. Determination of the acoustic performance of the basic materials and components of the facade system by calculation and measurement is explained. Testing the level of sound insulation is clarified. Evaluation of the acoustic performance of the whole facade in terms of sound transmission, demonstration of practical examples for practice, and introduction of relevant standards and regulations are carried out.
