Course Objectives
1. Provide experiences in problem solving approaches such as defining problems and selecting the best approach to obtain the best results in terms of technical or economical criterions.
2. Understand the basic optimization concept and to gain the awareness of optimization.
3. Gain practical experience on optimization problems in the chemical engineering industry
Course Description
Basic Concepts of Optimization, Formulation of optimization problems, Unconstrained Single Dimensional Optimization, Constrained Multivariable Optimization, Linear Programming, Nonlinear Programming, Simplex Method, Other optimization strategies, Optimization in Chemical Industry.
