Course Objectives

Teaching laws of heat transfer, thermal boundary layer, boundary conditions, heat generation, extended surfaces, unsteady heat conduction, numerical solution of heat conduction problems
Provide graduate students with advanced heat conduction knowledge required by real problems.

Course Description

Mechanisms of conduction heat transfer. Differential and integral formulations of conduction in solids with special emphasis on systems involving energy generation. Steady and transient conduction in solids, numerical methods.
