Course Objectives
1. To teach the students the art and technique of film scoring with musical elements and documents of sound design,
2. To develop the ability of students on making orchestration for films,
3. To give the students a background information about aesthetics of film scoring,
Course Description
Introduction to the technical and aesthetic requirements of scoring for film; the film making process, synchronization, spotting, orchestration and music preparation, technical requirements of the score, writing for animation.
Course Outcomes
Students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge, skills, and competencies:
1. Knowledge of writing music for motion picture and animation
2. The ability to start understanding the issues of spotting
3. The ability to start understanding the issues of synchronization
4. The ability to start understanding the issues of orchestration
