Course Objectives Students will learn about major tests in 19th century political thought and theory, with reference to the major themes of the period, the development of ideas, and comparison between major thinkers
Course Description The course will cover 19th century texts in political theory and thought with reference to liberalism, communitarianism, republicanism and libertarianism. The course will cover the intersection go social, moral, legal and state theory in political theory.
Course Outcomes Students will acquire the capacity to study and analyse texts in 19th century political theory and thought, along with the capacity to present ideas about these texts in class, discuss these ideas and write about them in essays, at a high level
