Course Objectives
• To perceive the cooperation between musicology and social history
• To explain link between the urbanization practices and music/dance traditions
• To analysis the affects and changes on the music/dance traditions that occured in/by social, economical and political urban histories.
Course Description
Urbanization, urban sociology, urban studies in Chicago school, economy-politic approaches to urban studies, music and dance in terms of urban culture, urban culture history and music/dance, utban music/dance traditions, popular urban music/dance traditions, socio-political periods and breakings in music/dance traditions
