Course Objectives

1. Through technical exercises and etudes students improve their technique and musicality.
2. Students develop an understanding of musical performance through a study of the historically relevant repertoire for their instrument.

Course Description

An individually tailored program to address the performer’s technical strengths and weaknesses and find ways to improve them through technical exercises and tutoring. Through close contact with the teacher, students will improve their overall musical ability, leading to an independent musical mind that is well prepared to execute high level performance. Each semester of individual instruction is intended to build upon the previous semester.
