BTT 516E - Science&Tech.Issues in Films

Course Objectives

1. To introduce topics related to science, technology and society through films;
2. To discuss the films related to science and technology by also considering the views of philosophers;
3. To develop the ability to communicate and discuss issues related to science, technology and society by considering the related films;
4. To develop the ability to read and understand films and make research and write in these issues.

Course Description

Analysis of science, technology and society issues through films. The concepts to be discussed through science-fiction and other films are technology and modernity, technology and bioethics, virtual world and dystopia, technology and democracy, technology and utopia, scientist and laboratory.
