NUK 603E - Monte Carlo Yöntemleri
Dersin Amaçları
The course equips students to implement, analyze, and apply Monte Carlo methods for complex nuclear engineering problems. Integrating Python simulations with MCNP modeling, students gain theoretical understanding and practical experience in nuclear transport, shielding, reactor physics, detector modeling, and uncertainty quantification.
Dersin Tanımı
This course introduces Monte Carlo methods and their applications in nuclear engineering, covering probability and statistics, random number generation, sampling, variance reduction, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods, with practical implementation in Python. Students will also apply these techniques using MCNP for neutron and photon transport, criticality, shielding, detector modeling, fuel burnup, and uncertainty analysis. Emphasis is placed on hands-on exercises, coding projects, and mini-projects to reinforce theory and practical skills.
