Dersin Amaçları To introduce the latest debates on transport research and urban planning
To examine and discuss the role of transport in the development of cities
Dersin Tanımı Transport may be the driving force in advancing urban life, national and global economies and the quality of life; yet, it may also have negative effects on society and the environment. Therefore, this course takes a critical stance toward understanding the impacts of transport on urban areas. Lectures focus on the main challenges that transport planning is facing with regard to environmental problems, such as climate change as well as economic and social issues. The course has an interdisciplinary scope combining the latest research in various fields related to transport studies such as geography, economy, sociology, technology, ecology and urban design.
