Can there be an objective criterion for the evaluation and appreciation of art? Or, can we determine the value of art merely by subjective experience? This course will focus on central quesions on the nature of art both from an analytic and a historical perspective. The objectives of the course also include:To improve the ability to think theoretically and to analyze concepts. To improve the ability to understand and interpret philosophical texts.
