Dersin Amaçları

The ultimate goal is to provide students with a deeper understanding of the Earth's history and the tools necessary to interpret the geological record. To this end, the contents of courses such as sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, paleontology, and geochemistry will be summarized.

Historical Geology is the study of Earth's history, focusing on the processes and events that have shaped our planet over billions of years. It examines rock formations, fossils, and stratigraphic records to understand the dynamic interactions between Earth's physical, chemical, and biological systems. Key topics include plate tectonics, mountain building, mass extinctions, paleoclimates, and the development of Earth's biosphere.
