Dersin Amaçları
To provide essential knowledge on alternative propulsion systems for ground vehicles.
To give detailed presentations on different configurations of electric and hybrid electric vehicles, operating principles, design, modeling, simulation and optimization of electric vehicle subsystems.
Dersin Tanımı
The course deals with the fundamentals, theory, and design of electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and fuel cell vehicles (FCVs). It presents vehicle configurations, control strategies, design methodologies, performance, modeling, and simulation for different conventional and modern vehicles. The course includes design methodologies and examples as well as simulation models for alternative propulsion systems of ground vehicles. It covers important sub-topics like electric machines, energy storage systems, regenerative braking and vehicle ancillary systems.
