Dersin Amaçları 1. To introduce key concepts of environment and behaviour in a cultural context;
2. To introduce psychological processes like environmental orientations and cognition;
3. To discuss how people use actions and behaviours to regulate their relations with the social and physical environments;
4. To demonstrate how mental and behavioural processes are reflected in different scales of environment;
5. To discuss how we can benefit from understanding the interplay of culture and environment in urban planning and design.

Dersin Çıktıları 1. To learn the key concepts of environment and behaviour in a cultural context;
2. To learn general orientations, attitudes and beliefs that different cultures have about nature and the environment;
3. To learn the basic definitions, dynamics and development of environmental cognition and perception;
4. To learn behavioural mechanisms like personal space and territoriality and how they are related to privacy;
5. To learn how different scales of the environment are shaped/designed/produced by mental and behavioural processes, and vice versa;
6. To learn how we can benefit from understanding the interplay of culture and environment in urban planning and design.

Gereken Olanaklar 70% attendance and on-time submission of assignments are compulsory to pass the course. The minimum midterm grade to pass this course is 40 (out of 100). Students who fail to meet these conditions are deemed not to have fulfilled the requirements to enter the final and their end-of-year grade is evaluated as VF.
