4 Textile materials and chemicals used, fiber-dyestuff bonds (interatomic bonds, intermolecular bonds), bond energies

1st week: Laboratory safety training
2nd week: Chemical analysis of natural textile materials (Cotton, linen, wool, etc.)
3rd week: Chemical analysis of synthetic textile materials; Polyester (PET), Nylon (PA), Acrylic (PAN) etc.
4th week: Chemical analysis of material type on blends, Calculation of their commercial ratios
5th week: Chemical determination of dyestuffs (reactive, direct, vat and sulphur) on fabric
6th week: Soap formation using vegetable oil and sodium hydroxide (NaOH)
7th week: Washing of oil-stained fabrics with soap, detergent and industrial washing agent
8th week: Application of a basic pre-treatment process with selected recipe and process diagram
9th week: Development and determination of absorbency on textile materials
10th week: Volumetric analysis of permanent and temporary water hardness
11th week: Application of Munsell Color Tone and Ishihara Color Blindness Tests, Assessment of color using Litebox® and spectrophotometer
12th week: Determination of pH values of alternatively colored textile materials
13th week: Extraction of formaldehyde from textile material, determination of formaldehyde content in a solution via titration
