Dersin Amaçları
Main objective of this course to prepare the students to effectively use the first and the second laws of thermodynamics in every kind of engineering applications.
Dersin Tanımı
Concepts and definitions. Pure material and PvT properties. Work, heat, state and change of state. Quasiequilibrium processes. Energy transfer by heat, work and mass. The first law of Thermodynamics for closed and open systems. Internal energy, enthalpy and specific heats. The second law of Thermodynamics for closed and open systems. Entropy. SteadyState and SteadyFlow processes. UniformState and UniformFlow processes. Exergy (availability) and irreversibility. Gas power cycles. Ideal Airstandard cycles. Vapor and combined power cycles. Refrigeration cycles.
