The objective is to give aerospace engineering students a firm understanding of rocket propulsion, the assumptions behind it, and the resulting limitations and applications.

Dersin Çıktıları
Ability to understand the general aspects of theory and applications of rocket propulsion and to solve simple problems associated with the application of rocket propulsion. Gain an understanding of the application of rocket propulsion to spacecraft design and development in terms of choosing the proper rocket engine geometry and parameters for required design goals and investigating the impact of different rocket engine parameters on vehicle performance.

Gereken Olanaklar
Students should have had an introductory course dealing with the fundamentals of compressible flow such as thermodynamic concepts, isentropic flow in a variable-area duct, Prandtl-Meyer flow and shock waves.
