1. Improve students’ reading, writing, speaking, and presentation skills as well as
evaluating and interpreting written information
2. Increase students’ academic vocabulary inventory
3. Create awareness of selecting reliable, scholarly sources
4. Enhance knowledge about a specific subject chosen by students
5. Practice the application of the research process by conforming to the conventions
of academic life and adhering to the norms of research ethics

Writing an academic paper comprising the following research process: Choosing a
topic of interest related to field of study, researching, source selection, construction
and defense of a specific viewpoint, critical thinking, outlining, citing sources by
conforming to the APA standards of writing, organizing a “References” page.
