MTO 388 - Geographic Information Science

Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to inform students about Geographical Information Science; to contribute to the training of engineers who can design projects for the public welfare by using GIS, manage the problems that arise during the application, identify and implement the necessary analyzes, and share the products and their knowledge.

Course Description

This course incorporates Geographic Information Systems (GIS) theory and applications. In this course, the basics of GIS, physical and functional components, application methods, data modeling, analysis, visualization and project management are covered. With this course, structuring of spatial and meteorological data, model design, integrated analysis techniques, data analysis and problems, GIS project management consistent with national and international standards are the other specific subjects of the course.
