UCK 205E - Thermodynamics I
Course Objectives
1. To teach students the basic principles of classical thermodynamics.
2. To teach students various methods of evaluating thermodynamic properties.
3. To train students to identify, formulate, and solve thermodynamic problems involving closed and open systems for both steady and transient processes.
Course Description
Introduction to Thermodynamics, Basic Concepts and Definitions. Properties of a pure substance and ideal gas. Work and heat. First law of thermodynamics as applied to a control mass and a control volume. Internal energy and enthalpy. Applications of steady-state steady-flow, uniform-state uniform-flow, and other processes.
