Course Objectives

Basics of Structural analysis. Stress, strain concepts. 2D Elasticity. Torsion of solid structures. Prandtl stress function. Membrane analogy. Energy methods: Virtual work. Potential energy. Statically indeterminate systems. Reciprocal theorems. Bending of plates. Buckling.

Course Description

1.To give knowledge about basic and two dimensional elasticity
2.Torsinal analysis of solid sections
3.To be able to use energy methods
4. To introduce plate bending.
