UCK 439E - Intr. to Optimal Control

Course Objectives

1. Introducing key features and theoretical basics of
optimization, dynamic programming and optimal control,
2. Providing ability to design and use of dynamic
programming, variational calculus and optimal controllers in
aerospace control problems,
3. Providing recent applications and examples for optimal
control systems that students can apply for real aerospace
problems

Course Description

The course aims to provide solid understanding for the
undergraduate students to optimization and the principles of
optimal control. The course covers solution methods
including numerical search algorithms, dynamic
programming, variational calculus, and approaches based on
Pontryagin's maximum principle, and it includes many
examples and applications of the theory.
