MTO 361 - Türkçe
Course Objectives
Studies on predicting the distribution, concentration and effects of air pollutants using numerical models, simulations and advanced tools. Investigating physical, chemical and biological effects such as weather conditions (wind, temperature, humidity) and human activities (traffic, industry) that affect pollution behaviour in urban, rural and industrial areas. Pollution monitoring includes assessment of health and environmental risks as well as mitigation and prevention strategies. It is the evaluation of pollution dispersion models, GIS, machine learning and sustainable applications to predict pollution levels and design solutions to improve air quality, protect public health and protect ecosystems.
Course Description
Air pollution modelling is a study to predict the distribution, concentration and effects of pollutants in the atmosphere. This modelling aims to study the movement and interaction of various pollutants in the air and their effects on the environment, human health and ecosystems while assessing air quality. To understand where pollutants are concentrated in a given area and how they move. Identify potential harm to human health or the environment. Develop and implement effective strategies to reduce air pollution. Computerized simulations are made to determine the effect of factors such as traffic density and industrial activities within the city on air pollution and help to better monitor, prevent, or reduce air pollution.
