UCK 207 - Thermodynamics

Course Objectives

Main objective of this course to prepare the students to effectively use the laws of thermodynamics in every kind of engineering applications.

Course Description

Concepts and definitions. Pure material and P-v-T properties. Work, heat, state and change of state. Energy transfer by heat, work and mass. The first law of Thermodynamics for closed and open systems. Internal energy, enthalpy and specific heats. The second law of thermodynamics for closed and open systems. Entropy. Exergy. Gas power cycles. Vapor and combined power cycles. Refrigeration cycles.
