Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide practical demonstration of flow in a cylinder, boundary layer flow, bending of beams, torsion of beams and deformation of truss systems with load.

Course Description

This course aims to teach the basic principles of experimental methods in engineering applications. Students learn to evaluate the performance of engineering systems using various measurement techniques, data acquisition systems and analysis methods. Topics such as failure analysis, design of experiments, data interpretation and reporting are covered. In addition, experimental studies specific to different engineering disciplines such as mechanical, thermal, fluid mechanics and materials testing are also applied.
