Course Objectives
1. To give knowledge about basic and two dimensional elasticity
2. Torsional analysis of solid sections
3. To be able to use energy methods
4. To solve buckling problems
5. To introduce plate bending
Course Description
Basic elasticity, Two-dimensional problems in elasticity, Torsion of solid sections (Prandtl stress function), Energy methods of structural analysis, Bending of plates, Structural stability
Course Outcomes
1. To understand basic elasticity
2. To deeply understand formulas used in engineering mechanics
3. To analyze torsional analysis of solid sections of different type
4. To use energy methods effectively
5. To solve statically indeterminate systems by using energy methods
6. To calculate the displacement of plate under different loading and boundary conditions
7. To solve buckling problems under different boundary conditions
