KMM 222E - Computational Methods in Chemical Engineering
Course Objectives
1. To familiarize students with the fundamentals of scientific computing concepts,
2. To develop problem solving skills,
3. To develop skills in constructing an algorithm,
4. To train students how to use Matlab in scientific and engineering calculations,
5. To train students to visualize their results.
6. To train students to acquire an understanding of the mathematics underlying the various numerical methods and show how numerical methods for solving applied problems in engineering are developed. To demonstrate practice in developing, testing and evaluating simple numerical algorithms
Course Description
An introductory course designed to introduce the students to design algorithms and to solve the scientific and engineering problems using numerical methods in Matlab, an algebraic and symbolic matrix manipulation program.
