Course Objectives
1. To give information about basic concepts related to polymers and polymerization (1,2),
2. To give knowledge about polymerization reactions and methods (3),
3. To give an ability to work individually (4,5),
4. To adopt the importance of lifelong learning (5),
5. To give information about product characterization (7),
6. To give information about industrial scale polymer products (8),
7. To give knowledge about polymer processing methods (6),
8. To help for improving their ability to be successful in written Turkish
Course Description
Basic concepts related to polymer and polymerization, Free radical vinyl polymerization, Condensation and addition polymerizations, Free radical vinyl polymerization, Ionic polymerization, Polymer characterization, Polymer processing.
Course Outcomes
Students will be;
1. Learn the most important monomers and determination of their polymerization types,
2. Predict the appropriate polymerization method for producing intended polymer,
3. Have an ability to follow literature,
4. Understand scientific articles and try to find the final results,
5. Have information about polymer processing,
6. Have knowledge about polymer characterization,
7. Have an ability to be successful in written Turkish.
