Course Objectives Students who pass the course will be able to:
1. demonstrate a basic knowledge on the principles of mass transfer and different diffusion models
2. develop an understanding on the application of theoretical knowledge into practice by providing examples from the industry
3. demonstrate an ability of problem solving and analytical thinking
4. develop an ability of working in a team.
Course Description Basic principles and laws in mass transfer; Diffusion models of gas, solid and liquid systems; Continuity equation and steady-state diffusion model; Mass transfer with convection.
Course Outcomes 1. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of fundamental engineering principles.
2. Demonstrate the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical problem solving.
3. Apply appropriate engineering tools and methods to solve problems.
4. Analyze problems from different viewpoints.
5. Generate many potential solutions to a given problem.
6. Apply principles and generalizations already learned to new problems and situations.
7. Demonstrate to learn independently.
8. Apply logic in solving problems.
9. Learn from mistakes and practices and continue improvement.
