Course Objectives
Emphasize about the mechanisms and theories on crystal growth, kinetics of crystallization, crystal morphology, crystallizer design and industrial applications.
Course Description
Crystalline Structure, Solubility, Super-Saturation, Measurement of Super-Saturation, Nucleation, Growth of Crystals, Particle-Size-Distribution, Nucleation and Measurement of Growth Rates, Industrial Crystallizers and Their Application Fields.
Course Outcomes
1. To understand the basic terms in crystallization.
2. To learn process parameters effective in crystallization process.
3. To understand the importance of the crystal morphology on industry.
4. To understand the basic principles in crystallizer design and design methods.
5. To gain the ability to communicate effectively in writing and by oral presentation.
