Course Objectives
1. Introduce rotating electrical machines.
2. Introduce techniques related to operation of electrical machines.
3. Introduce methods to analyze behavior of these machines operated under different
conditions.
Course Description
Operational principles of rotating electrical machines, their construction, classification and application areas. Steady-state equivalent-circuit models, torque-speed and currentvoltage characteristics and determination of model parameters of synchronous,
induction and direct-current machines. Generator and motor operation of these machines. General knowledge on special electrical machines such as single-phase alternating current machines and permanent magnet direct-current machines
