KON 426E - Intelligent Control Systems

Course Objectives

To train students to analyze and design intelligent control systems.
To train students to use neural-fuzzy-geneticcontrol engineering tools in intelligent control systems.
To train students to use relevant computer software in the analysis and design of intelligent control systems.
Toprovide
practice for developing critical thinking skills and solving open ended problems.
To provide experience for students to work in groups.
To provide practice in preparing scientificreports in English.

Introduction to Intelligent Control Systems. Basic Learning Processes. OptimizationTechniques. Single- LayerPerceptrons. Multi-Laye rPerceptrons. Backpropagation Algorithm. Control Using Neural Networks. Basics of FuzzySets. Fuzzy Rules andFuzzy Reasoning. Fuzzy Inference Systems. Control Using FuzzyLogic. Genetic Algorithms. Other Derivative-Free Global Optimization Methods. Basic Information on How to Use Matlab Neural Network andFuzzy LogicToolboxes.
