Course Objectives
1.Presenting process control systems and its components.
2.Obtaining the models of process control systems.
3.Presenting multi degree of freedom process control systems and controller design.
4.Analyzing PID controller tuning methods.
5.Studying special process control system structures and design methods.
Course Description
Introduction. Presentation of process control systems. Sensors and actuators used in process control systems. Dynamic behavior of process control systems, and its modelling. Obtaining the models of process control systems from experimental data. Multi degree of freedom process control systems. Feedforward and feedback controller. Internal model control structures. PID controller tuning methods. Special process control systems structures: Smith predictor; Ratio control; Set-point regulator; Cascade control. Introduction to predictive control. Introduction to two input-two output (TITO) process control systems.
