Course Objectives 1) To introduce the counting techniques
2) To introduce the concept of probability
3) To introduce the basic elements of probability
4) To make aware of the students about the use of probability in St
Course Description Counting Techniques, Concept of Probability, Probability Function, Probability Density Function, Bernoulli, Binom, Poisson Distributions, Exponential, Gamma, Normal Density Functions, Random Variables of Multiple Dimensions, The Concept of Estimator and Properties of Estimators, Maximum Likelihood Function, Test of Hypothesis, Ki-Square Test, t-test, F-test, Correlation Theory.
Course Outcomes 1) They will have an idea about counting techniques
2) They will have an understanding of probability from the point of view of science
3) They will be introduced to the basic elements of probability and learn how to use it
4) They will be introduced to the basic elements of statistics
5) They will learn to look at a problem from the point of view of statistics
6) When they are in need of statistics, they will use statistics as a tool
