Course Objectives 1.To train students to analyze continuous linear control systems
2.To train students to use control engineering tools like root-locus, frequency response methods and state space representatıons .
3.To provide experience in using software packages to solve control problems.
4.To provide practice for developing critical thinking skills and solving open ended problems.
Course Description Introduction to feedback control systems. Criteria for transient response analysis and steady state errors.
Stability analysis. Root-Locus plots. Frequency domain criteria. Nyquist diagram and Nyquist stability
criterion. Bode diagrams. Closed-loop frequency response. State-space representations.
Course Outcomes I. Understand the concept of feedback,
II. Use the time domain criteria
III. Understand the concept of stability and use the Routh Hurwitz Criterion,
IV. Draw and interpret the root locus of continuous linear control systems,
V. Use the frequency domain criteria ,
VI. Draw and interpret Nyquist diagrams and use Nyquist Stability Criterion,
VII. Draw and interpret Bode diagrams
VIII. Interpret the closed loop system frequency responses.
IX. Represent control systems in state space
