Course Objectives 1. An introduction to the language, logic, and math of numerical methods as used
in engineering and the sciences,
2. An opportunity to learn how numerical analyses can be applied to a wide range
of problems of importance in the sciences, industry, and society,
3. To teach how to apply numerical methods in practice using Python
programming techniques
Course Description Introductory level Python programming. Description of Numerical Methods and application of them particularly in engineering. Numerical methods for the solution of systems (lineer and nonlinear), approximation methods, interpolation, linear regression, root finding, numerical differentiation and integration, initial value problems. Application of numerical methods using Python programming techniques.
Course Outcomes Student, who passed the course satisfactorily can:
I. use Python programming language in scientific and engineering calculations
II. understand the fundamentals of numerical methods,
III. use the knowledge about numerical methods in analyzing a problem
Pre-requisite(s) MAT 102 / MAT 102E MIN DD veya (or) MAT 104 / MAT 104E MIN DD, EHB110E MIN DD
Required Facilities
Other Homeworks aiming to solve problems using numerical methods will be assigned and solutions should be handed in as Python programs
