Course Objectives
1)To orientate students on how to identify a problem and propose solutions considering general engineering design process.
2)To improve student’s ability on choosing an appropriate solution among alternatives.
3)To teach principles of basic engineering drawing
4)To teach how to use computer for engineering drawing
5)To improve student’s skills in the area of working in a team efficiently, having technical communication, preparing and presenting their presentations.
Course Description
This course introduces fundamental concepts of engineering drawing and design methodologies used in electrical engineering profession. It provides an environment for each student in open ended problems relating to actual design. The course is also organized to develop skills such as document preparation and interpersonal communications, which are an integral part of a design process and are crucial to the intellectual life and practice for a successful engineer. Assignment of group studies during the semester will help improving student’s skills in the area of technical communication and presentation. Case studies assigned to the groups are selected to be appropriate to the profession of electrical engineering.
