Course Objectives
1. To teach the fundamentals of electromagnetic field theory
2. To teach electrostatic fields
3. To teach magnetostatic fields
4. To teach time varying fields
Course Description
Vector analysis, vectorial differential operators, static electric field, electric potential, electrostatic field
analysis in conductors and dielectric media, electrostatic energy, electrostatic boundary conditions,
magnetostatic field, vector potential, magnetic circuits, magnetic energy, magnetostatik boundary conditions,
quasi-static fields, time varying fields and Maxwell equations
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
I. Work with vector algebra and vector differential operators
II. Calculate electrostatic field, force and potential
III. Calculate the electrostatic fields in conductors and dielectric materials
IV. Calculate magnetostatic field and force
V. Solve the problems related to magnetostatic fields in magnetic materials
VI. Solve the problems related to electromagnetic fields using Faraday and Ampere Laws
