ECO 305 - Economic Globalization
Course Objectives
This course aims to give an understanding of what economic globalization refer to. To this end, students are introduced with the corporate strategies and state policies at the local, regional and global levels which shape the actual processes of globalizaton .
Course Description
This course will explore the new global economy, and the processes driving it. Firstly, there will be an introduction to the concept of globalization and the debates on it. Secondly, global shifts in production, trade and investment will be discussed. Then, the course will mainly focus on the two interrelated sets of processes: the strategies of TNCs and, the strategies of national governments. On the basis of these discussions, the impact of globalization on developed as well as developing countries will be the issue to explore.
