ECO 201 - Intermediate Microeconomics

Course Objectives

Students shoud be able to understand and interpret the results of advanced microeconomic analysis.

Course Description

This course studies theory of consumer behavior first and then builds individual demand and market demand curves from consumer preliminaries. Then, the effect of uncertainty on consumer behavior is analyzed. Next, the production choices of firms and production functions are examined. In addition, various cost-concepts are intoduced, including, long-run costs, sunk costs, and learning curves. Then, the course will continue with the analysis of perfectly competitive markets and monopoly. Finally, other forms of imperfect competition will be examined with particular emphasis on introducing and applying game theory.
