Course Objectives To equip students with the ability to integrate various concepts and methods into a cohesive approach for designing products and setting up manufacturing systems.

To develop critical thinking skills and foster teamwork, enabling students to address complex engineering challenges in a practical, real-world context.

To provide hands-on experience through practical activities, such as designing a manufacturing facility, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems.

To prepare students to conduct research and optimize production systems by measuring, collecting, analyzing data, and designing efficient systems within the constraints of budget, time, and resources.
Course Description This course is specifically designed in the Management Engineering program to equip the students with the ability of integrating various concepts and methods into a cohesive approach for product design and for setting up various manufacturing systems. The course emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills and teamwork, preparing students to tackle complex engineering challenges in a practical, real-world context.

Throughout the course, students will engage in hands-on activities, such as designing a manufacturing facility. They will be responsible for determining all the necessary components for producing a specific product, including materials, processes, and equipment. Additionally, students will learn the optimization of production processes considering the constraints such as budget, time, and resource availability.

The primary aim of the course is to prepare students to conduct research by identifying a new production system, measuring, collecting, analyzing and data, designing and improving the production system and applying the findings to design efficient manufacturing systems. By the end of the course, students will have to develop the skills of designing an entire manufacturing system from beginning to end, ensuring they are well-prepared to enter the workforce with confidence in their ability to solve complex problems and work effectively within a team.
