Course Objectives
At the of the semester, students will be able to:
• Describe and summarize economic data using graphical and numerical tools.
• Understand basic probability theory and its role in modeling uncertainty.
• Distinguish between discrete and continuous probability distributions.
• Construct and interpret confidence intervals and hypothesis tests.
• Apply simple and multiple regression analysis in economic applications.
Course Description
This course introduces the fundamental tools of statistics as applied in economics. Students will learn how to summarize data, understand probability, and conduct statistical inference. Emphasis will be placed on interpreting results in an economic context, preparing students for more advanced econometrics and applied research.
