Course Objectives To give basic microeconomics knowledge and approaches to the students, To make them understand economic agents (firms and households) behaviors.
Course Description The course aims to provide a sound understanding of mainstream microeconomic theories and models. Within the scope of this course theories of consumer behavior and demand , theories of cost and production, market structures and welfare economics are discussed. Basic principles of economics with a particular emphasis on the nature and application of those bearing on decision making within a household, firm or industry; including consideration of problems respecting the composition and pricing of the national output, distribution of income, pricing and output of factors of production and foreign trade.
Course Outcomes Learn the basic concepts and use tools of economic analysis, Understand of market mechanism and analyze the impact of changes in economic environment on the market, An ability to understand and evaluate the impact of individual economic agents on the market and the impact of the market on these agents; An ability to evaluate the pricing and production decisions of firms in different market structures; Get knowledge of the basic concepts of strategic thinking.
