Course Objectives
1-) To understand financial market inefficiencies explained by psychological theories.
2-) To explore the differences between standard financial theory and behavioral explanation of financial theory.
3-) To learn to design policies under the assumptions of behavioral economics
Course Description
Market efficiency and behavioural finance, prospect theory, knightian uncertainty, limits to arbitrage, herd behaviour, sentiment, bubbles, anomalies
Course Outcomes
1-) To understand why investors herd.
2-) To analyse how the rational investors can benefit from psychological biases.
3-) To understand the factors that limit the arbitrage
4-) To link the prospect theory with the irrational behavior.
5-) To link the financial outcomes with psychological factors such as sentiment.
6-) To understand psychological factors behind financial bubbles.
7-) To understand the psychological biases.
